There are two types of vehicle owners in general, there are those who are well informed and knowledgeable about their cars and then there are those who do not have the slightest idea of where the engine oil should go. If we were to guess which type of car owner saves more money in the long run, the answer is quite obvious that it would be the former, definitely not the latter. If we probed a little on this phenomenon, most would be surprised that gender plays no role in this categorization of vehicle owners, and most of these knowledgeable car owners are not mechanics, or associated with the automobile industry in any way which begs the question; just how did they become so knowledgeable about their vehicles?  Well, the actual truth behind this is that most of these knowledgeable individuals actually share a common secret and that secret is they most probably own the car factory service manual associated with their vehicle.

What are Car Factory Service Manuals?

Car factory service manuals are basically publications that are released by manufacturers that contain everything about the specific make and model of the car that the manufacturer introduces to the market. The factory service manual contains everything there is to know about the vehicle and in essence could be considered as a blueprint and typically serves as a guide for vehicle owners and especially for mechanics who could potentially save a lot of time on trouble shooting using these car factory service manuals. This is mainly because most of these manuals contain information on the common problems that the make or model is prone to and provide guidelines on how to overcome them or avoid these common problems altogether. Generally, they also contain instructions complete with visuals on how to fix complex repair issues such as calibrating the fuel injection valves or fine tuning the car engine towards optimal performance. The reliability of these manuals is 100% accurate based on the fact that the information or details about the car are obtained from the engineers who develop the vehicles.

PDF Downloads of Car Factory Service Manuals

Most of these factory service manuals are in PDF format and as we all already know, smaller PDF file sizes mean smaller print and zooming in would only result in blurred content. As such it is important to load these manuals (if in PDF format) that are at least 5MB or above. Anything smaller would probably leave you squinting in the dark in the middle of nowhere on a dark night. It would be wise to print out these manuals and keep a hard copy in the car and a digital format in your mobile device or your computer as you may never know when they might be needed.  Giving a copy to your regular mechanic would also be a good idea as it would help your mechanic to get to the bottom of things quite quickly and accurately instead of tinkering about mindlessly trying to solve problems.
